Frequently Asked Questions

Where does the data come from?

Intelwatch aggregates data from verified public APIs including Pappers (for French legal and financial data), Apollo/Clearbit (for international business routing), Algolia (HackerNews), Reddit JSON API, and Brave Search for live web & press OSINT.

Is scraping this data legal?

Yes. Intelwatch does not perform aggressive HTML scraping. It relies strictly on official, public, and documented APIs (like Pappers and Reddit) and adheres to their respective rate limits and terms of service. You bring your own API keys for AI and search providers.

How does the Pro license work?

Once you subscribe, you will receive a license key via email. Simply run intelwatch auth YOUR_KEY in your terminal. This unlocks PDF & Excel exports, the Deep Profile AI Due Diligence generation, and international data routing.

Do you store my searches?

No. Intelwatch is a CLI tool that runs locally on your machine. We do not track, store, or log the companies or individuals you investigate. Your API keys are stored locally in your environment variables.
